5.1.2 Controlled outlets
Certain UPS models are equipped with controlled outlets (generally 2) which are always dependant on the UPS's
main outlet.
Shutdown of the main outlet systematically causes shutdown of the programmable outlets.
Warning: Some inverters have only 2 programmable plugs without mains plug (Powerware). With this type of
UPS, stopping a programmable outlet causes the UPS shutdown.
The following notations are used to identify these outlets:
Main outlet: Main
Controlled outlet 1 1
Controlled outlet 2 2
Start shutdown main

Shutdown duration

5.1.3 Protection of a server connected to a controlled outlet
Intelligent Power Protector (IPP) starting with version 3.0 are compatible with the controlled outlets.
After connecting the server electrically to one of the controlled outlets, the IPP must be informed of the outlet
number to which it is connected.
Refer to the documentation of the IPP available on the internet site www.eaton.com
5.1.3.1 Load shedding or sequential shutdown
It is possible to optimise backup time by shutting down non-priority equipment or sequencing the shutdown of
several devices.
